Daily classes
When are the classes?
Every day, with no day off: mornings 7:30–9:30 am and afternoons 3:30–5:30 pm. Some mornings the class moves to Secret Garden, an open garden nearby, from 8:00–9:30 am, so send a message the evening before a morning class. The afternoon class is always at the school.
What happens in a class?
Every class follows the same traditional order. It opens with savasana, lying down to settle the body and mind and create the atmosphere for practice. Then comes pranayama, breathing practice; then Surya Namaskar, the Sun Salutation; then asanas for all levels; and finally a deep, long relaxation.
Do I need experience?
No. Beginners and experienced students practise in the same room, with easier and stronger versions of each posture and hands-on guidance. Tell the teacher if you are new or have an injury. Our beginner’s guide explains what to expect.
Do I need to book or bring anything?
No booking is needed, and mats are provided. Wear clothes you can bend in, and bring water and a light layer for the final relaxation.

Over more than fifteen years in Fort Kochi he has taught more than 5,000 group classes and led more than 70 international teacher training batches. More on the About page.

Three things worth being clear about
We are not Santhi Yoga International in Vagamon
A similarly named school, Santhi Yoga International, operates in Vagamon, elsewhere in Kerala. It is a separate organisation with no connection to us. Santhi School of Yoga & Vedanta Studies is in Fort Kochi, and its phone number is +91 7907714144.
We are not a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School
Graduates of our 200-hour training receive the school’s own certificate and cannot register as RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance. We explain what that means in how to choose a teacher training.
We are independent of the Sivananda organisation
Our teacher trained in the Sivananda tradition, and that training shapes the classes, but the school is not an official Sivananda centre. See Sivananda yoga in Kochi.
